Patchwork Square Blanket Course.

A year long course covering different techniques, including cable work, lace and colour work, bringing it all together to create a beautiful, individual blanket.

• Aimed at novice knitters who can cast on, knit and purl. We will be developing your knowledge of different stitches and techniques and growing your confidence in your knitting skills.

• We will be learning how to follow different patterns, including cables, lace, and both stranded and intarsia colour work. You will also be shown how to join together your squares and knit on a cabled border.

Classes include: patterns, tuition and one ball of Lang Carpe Diem per month.

Classes do not include: needles, notions and extra yarn. You will need a set of 5mm needles to begin the class and other notions (cable needle, bobbins etc) will be advised in advance. Depending on how large you want to make the blanket you may need extra balls of yarn. All necessary class materials can be purchased in store with a 10% discount for class members.

£30 per class, payable quarterly in advance, (£90 first quarter payable on booking to secure place).

Classes will run once per month, usually on the first Saturday of the month, apart from January and May 2027 when the classes will be on the second Saturday. It may be necessary to move other classes, but you will be given plenty of notice. Please let is know in advance if you cannot attend a class. We can then arrange for you to pop in and collect your pattern and yarn.

Classes will begin on 5 September 2026, with the next two sessions on 3 October 2026 and 7 November 2026. A full schedule will be provided at your first session.

Due to demand, we will be offering two sessions on each day. Morning workshops will run from 10.30am until 1.00pm and afternoon workshops will run from 2.00pm until 4.30pm.
