About Us

Norfolk Yarn was opened by Becky in December 2005 in our first premises on the Aylsham Road in Norwich. The business grew over the next few years and in March 2014 we moved to our current location on Pottergate, in the vibrant Norwich Lanes area of the city.

In April 2026 Becky made the decision to step back from the day to day running of the business and Mandy took over.

We stock a wide range of yarn, fibre, patterns, books, needles, notions and accessories.

New!

We will be holding a new monthly knitting and crochet group in the shop. It is free to attend if you are working on a project that you have bought from us. The groups will run from 10.30 - 12.30 starting on Saturday 26 September and continuing on 17 October, 21 November and 19 December. Completely flexible and informal, come for a chat or stay for 2 hours. Come to one or come to all.

Please note the bricks and mortar shop will be closed on Monday 21 September to take our daughter to University. Good Luck Phoebe!

If the shop is not busy, we reserve the right to go home early. If you are having a day out in Norwich please do try and visit us earlier in the day to avoid disappointment.

Colour charts are updated as often as possible, please note some yarns may be discontinued by the manufacturer on occasion.
