I will create an individual silk paper backgrounds for you and colour wash them with silk paint (there will be a choice of simple shapes and colour ) you will then needle felt them with wool/yarn/silk fibres with a landscape design of your choice....when finished they can be further high-lighted with simple stitches and couched threads to provide extra texture etc.

You are welcome to bring anything you'd like to use, including merino fibres/yarns/fancy yarns/embroidery threads/silk fibres/plus a sewing kit.
I will bring one or two deep box stretchers for you to purchase should you wish to mount your finished work.
The most important thing to consider and bring :
a suitable photo/picture (from a magazine/book etc) /sketch of a simple landscape you'd like to work from. If you want to use a photo a good idea is to take one or two pics and print them off. You could use black and white/colour/sepia (settings on most digital cameras will allow you to create these) You may like to use the whole print or just a small area.............
This can be as simple as a couple of trees/a hedge/a field and grasses in the foreground. Winter with bare trees, summer with lots of foliage, etc. Cost for the day is £38 and runs from 10am until 3pm.

Mystery Blanket 2017

We are in the process of organising Mystery Blanket for 2018 so please check back later for further details.

Our Mystery Blanket course is a project developed over a number of years to provide extra help and tuition to those wanting to improve their knitting skills in an enjoyable social group.

Meeting once a month throughout the year we tackle a different knitting skill including cabling, Fair Isle and lace designs, to produce a collection of squares to make your own individual blanket. I will also show you how to sew the squares together neatly and add a cable border, giving you a beautiful, cosy blanket in time for Christmas.

We will be using an exciting new yarn, which comes in a wide range of colours, so everyones blanket will be individual to their own taste.

The course is 12 sessions, once a month, on a Saturday.

All classes must be booked and paid for in advance to secure places. We keep our classes small to ensure personal tuition, therefore refund of payment for cancellations will only be given if the place is filled by another student.

We reserve the right to cancel the class if circumstances demand it, but full refunds will be given in this situation.
