Tackling fast fashion! This yarn is made from recycled fabrics sourced locally by a family owned mill in India. The colours have a slight tweed effect due to the mix of fibres used. This aran weight yarn is very easy to knit with and will produce very durable garments.
Needle size: 5mm
Tension: 16sts per 10cm
Meterage: 200m/100g
Composition: 65% wool; 25% polyacryl; 10% nylon
Washing Instructions: machine washable, we recommend you wash a test square first.

Recycling process: garments with a least 60% wool are chosen for the recycling process. They are sorted by colour and the fibres are extracted. Once the garments are shreded approximately 10-15% recycled polyesters is added to it. The overall percentage of polyester added is dependent on the fibre composition of the recycled garments. The polyester is added for strength (recycled garments yield a weaker fibre than raw natural fibre) and to add eveness to the yarn at the time of spinning. The polyester added is 100% regenerated polyester recycled from PET bottles.
