Knitted Lace Shawl- Saturday 27th April, 25th May and 15th June 1.30-4.30pm

A three part workshop, once a month, to make a lace and beaded shawl. You will need to be proficient in basic knitting but all new techniques will be taught.

Elements covered in the course will include:

• Following graphs for lace designs.

• Understanding stitches used in lace knitting.

• Including beads in knitting.

• Picot cast off.

Workshop costs:

The workshop will cost £50, this will cover the three classes tuition and the pattern, and there will also be a 10% discount available to all materials purchased for the course.

Jumper in the Round- Saturday 14th September, 19th October and 16th November, 1.30 - 4.30pm.

A three part workshop, once monthly, to construct a jumper with a lace pattern yoke. The garment will be knitted in the round, using circular needles, from the top down. You will need to be proficient in basic knitting but all new techniques will be taught.

Elements covered in the course will include:

• Using circular needles in the round.

• Choice of yarns to achieve gauge.

• Following graphs for lace designs.

• Short rowing.

• Provisional cast on.

• Personalising design elements.

Beginners Socks -

Wednesday 12th and 19th June 1.30-4.30pm

Saturday 26th October and 2nd November, 10-1pm

This is a two part class aimed at learning to make socks for those who are able to knit but feel challenged by working in the round or have never made a sock before.

We will work with double pointed needles to knit in the round without a seam; turn a heel and work Kitchener stitch to make a seam free toe. If you are proficient at knit and purl, all other techniques will be taught.

The course costs £50 and this includes all materials.

Fair Isle Hat- Saturday 26th October and 2nd November 1.30-4.30pm

This is a two part class to make a stranded colour work hat and is aimed at those new to colour work but proficient in basic knitting.

Elements covered in the course include;

• Following graphs for colour work designs.

• Knitting in the round on circular needles.

The course costs costs £60 and this includes all materials.

Patchwork Square Blanket Course. Wednesday 11th September 2024, 10-1pm, and runs throughout 2024 mainly on the 2nd Wednesday of the month.

A year long course covering different techniques, including cable work, lace and colourwork, bringing it all together to create a beautiful, individual blanket.

• Aimed at novice knitters who can cast on, knit and purl. We will be developing your knowledge of different stitches and techniques and growing your confidence in your knitting skills.

• We will be learning how to follow patterns, cable, knit lace, colour work in Intarsia and Fair Isle, join together and knit on borders.

• Wool and patterns provided. You will need a pair of 5mm needles.

£30 per class, payable quarterly in advance, (£90 first quarter payable on booking to secure place).

All classes must be booked and paid for in advance to secure places. We keep our classes small to ensure personal tuition, therefore refund of payment for cancellations will only be given if the place is filled by another student.

We reserve the right to cancel the class if circumstances demand it, but full refunds will be given in this situation.
